Going Beyond the Medical
Meet the Instructor:
Michelle Ferrel, MSW, LICSW
A lifelong believer and therapist with over a decade of clinical experience, I’m honored to support individuals and couples who value integrating their faith into the therapeutic process. While therapy is not a Bible study, Scripture offers profound guidance on seeking counsel and finding peace through connection with others. As Proverbs 11:14 reminds us, “Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.” I'm grateful to work in a setting where spiritual wellness and Christian perspectives can be thoughtfully woven into healing.Â
Â
My professional background includes a wide range of clinical settings—treating substance use disorders, supporting military members and their families, and working in community mental health. I have spoken in multiple conferences on narrative therapy strategies and motivational interviewing with non-voluntary populations and cross cultural therapy approaches. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches (including CBT for Insomnia and CBT for Suicide Prevention); Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy; Perinatal Mental Health; Sex Therapy; and Somatic Experiencing. I take an integrative approach, drawing from multiple modalities to meet each client’s unique needs.Â

Areas of Passion:
Supporting individuals and couples navigating pregnancy loss or infertility
Healing from trauma or harm caused by others
Reclaiming self-worth and identity through the lens of God’s design.
